As a child, seeing the face of a woman made from pieces of paper mesmerised Chilean Enrique Cornejo-Sanchez and served as inspiration for the mosaics he was to produce later in life.  He sources digital images and groups them into themed galleries appropriate to the artwork, from which he then selects the most appropriate images to create the mosaic; ‘Musical Dream’ is created from 5,000 CD covers.  The themed galleries are enormous: the gallery of magazine covers consists of some 70,000 images, CD covers comprises 25,000 images – but these vast repositories serve to provide Cornejo-Sanchez with a larger ‘palette’ and therefore a better mosaic.
Commissions have included ‘One for All’ – the campaign by Emile Roemer, the Netherlands’ Socialist Party leader.  Roemer asked if people would join him on the cover of the Dutch ZO newspaper; over 2,000 people sent in their photographs from which Cornejo-Sanchez created a unique portrait of Roemer, which graced the newspaper’s front page.
